International Day

AJ had International Day for Girl Scouts this weekend. As I was putting together the clips I had to smile because Jack is in almost every picture. I told Brett Jack has been such a good sport. He has been hauled along to so many events for AJ and he is always so easy going about it. He can usually make his own fun no matter where we are. When they get older I better never once hear AJ complain about going to one of Jack's football games!

Playing "Swim"

The kids are really ready for the pool to open, what do you think? Lucky for us it's not too far off–April 1st.

Valentine's Celebrations

Holy smokes! I don't remember Valentine's being such a major holiday when I was a kid, but AJ and Jack had non-stop Valentine action all week. I had to make a documentary to cover all of the events!

Personally, I boycott Val's Day. I think it is a manufactured holiday to get guilty husbands to spend a bunch of money. For me I feel very lucky and proud to be Brett's wife and the most beautiful piece of "jewelry" a woman can wear is happiness, and I've got a great big sparkly one!!! So that is my two cents.

And with that, here is my feature-film-length "Valenti-umentary"

Mad Skills...

I took this clip the other day while selling cookies, and thought it was funny. AJ is rockin' it, but Jack's having a hard time. Michael Jordan he is not...

My baby

He's all grown up, and every year I fall deeper and deeper head-over-heals in love with this kid. He is the all-American boy and I just think he is as handsome as all get out. If he wasn't so sweet he'd be able to milk it for all it's worth, because I just can't say no to my boy.

As for his special day, Jack knew exactly what he wanted to do: lunch at Players, bowling, then rolling on the grass (a quad area at UT), cake and ice cream, then a bed on the floor and movie night. We did it all and then some and it was one of the funnest days I can ever remember. So here is a little peak. Thank you all for the sweet calls, cards and posts. Jack was loving it all.

The most awesome birthday wish ever...

I just had to link to Uncle Greg's birthday wish so we will have it forever. Jack idolizes Greg and his boys and was stoked to be on their blog. As an added bonus, this is one of my all time favorite pictures of Jack (it was taken after spending a day on the lake with our friends, and Jack just looks SO cool!) and Greg sums Jack up perfectly in one little paragraph.

Thanks again Greg, you are the perfect redneck roll model for Jack. I think when he grows up he wants to be you!

Thank You Griffiths!!!

Jack LOVES his "karate bag." You guys are so sweet to always remember our kids. Thanks again, here is a little taste of what Jack has been up to all afternoon:

PS: I know this is going to break your heart Shauna, but Jack couldn't remember who you guys were at first until AJ said, "Uncle Jim, you know–Barbosa Jim...like 'Jaaack.'" Then Jack remembered right away. It was cute.

More wacky Texas weather

I know I've posted on this before but Texas weather is so crazy. This icy morning was last week. We had 2 cold days in a row then the temps popped back up into the 70s. Yesterday was 78º!!! Gorgeous! I just can't say enough how much I love it here in central Texas.

Selling Cookies

When I was in campfire I looked forward to selling candy in the same way you might look forward to a root canal. I hated it–talking to strangers has never been a strong suit. So I figured my agoraphobia would have passed to the next generation. I brought up the subject with AJ in the spirit of "you don't have to do this horrible thing if you don't want to... I won't make you," etc. To my utter surprise she was not only willing, but excited. She did a great job, and sold 44 boxes over 2 days. I will never cease to be amazed by my kids. You think you know someone, then...

Reverently, quietly...

Here is a glimpse into a normal Sunday. Of course we were about 10 minutes late (it doesn't matter what time church starts) and we had to wait in the foyer until sacrament was over. You can see how prim and proper we are at church. At least AJ's underwear aren't showing.
