A plug for the Best Show On TV

LOVE Friday Night Lights

Pre-Thanksgiving Preparations

We have Thanksgiving festivities well under way. A couple weekends ago we had "practice Thanksgiving" complete a pumpkin pie we made from the pumpkin AJ brought home from the pumpkin patch. The kids thought that was great.

Last year we started a tradition of letting AJ decorate the Thanksgiving table (see last year's table) so this year she has been busy with lots of little crafts. We made our annual "Thanksgiving turkey suckers" to hand out to all of the people we are thankful for. And have been enjoying some time off from school.

Here is a little video of AJ hard at work to make our Thanksgiving festive.

Here is a video from this week's adventure. Stay tuned after the video for a cute clip of the kids playing the guessing game.

Who knew Johnny Cash had a Dinosaur song. Lucky me : )

Cute bums!

I came across this shot today while I was going through all our pics for my 2007 photo album. It is from our Visalia going away party. All the little kids were lined up around the hot tub, and even though neither AJ or Jack is in it (bummer!) I thought I'd post it because it is just so dang cute. We sure miss those parties!

Outtakes

We went for a family photo shoot Sunday, trying to get a Christmas card picture. AJ was making funny faces in almost all of them, but hey–if you can't beat 'em...join 'em. We had a lot of fun and then went out for burgers to reward ourselves for all our hard work. Being a model is (cue whiny voice) sooo hard!

The Halloween Video

An Awesome(ly easy) Fall Dessert

I've made this dessert for years. It is seriously easy and always gets rave reviews–it is really delicious (IF you like pumpkin pie–it has the same consistency.) Anyway, I came across this pretty picture (from backporchmusings), and I thought I'd post the recipe:

Ingredients:
1-box yellow cake mix
1-large can pumpkin pie mix
1-8oz can evaporated milk
2-eggs
1-stick butter (melted)
2-small pkgs. pecan halves

Mix pumpkin pie mix with eggs and evaporated milk. Pour into large baking dish, crumble dry cake mix over the top, drizzle with melted butter, garnish with pecan halves. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven, until brown. Approximately 45 minutes. That's it! Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. It's great for a pot luck or get together.
