Pandemic Preparedness
Our church "Homepreparedness Specialist" sent out this video to all the members. It is a presentation made for the Ricks College faculty (I guess ???) regarding the avian flu, however it pertains to any kind of flu. It does a good job explaining pandemics, how they start and spread, and what to do. It is 18 minutes long, and I found it informative without being alarmist. I thought the swine flu was a lot of fuss over nothing, but after watching the video I have beefed up our food storage and 72-hour kits, and tonight we are going to have an "emergency preparedness" meeting with the kids. Better safe than sorry.

The Youngest Lake Pointe Lazer
Swim team try-outs were today, and yes, you heard it; Jack is the newest and youngest member of the Lake Pointe Lazers. And I think I am the proudest mama in Texas. Jack has the world in the palm of his hand. And AJ kicked butt in the 7-8s. She is a swimming rock star.

Spring Jamboree
Last Saturday the University of Texas has it's football Spring Jamboree. As you can see we had a lot of fun. It took us about 90 minutes to walk the mile or so to the stadium because we kept getting distracted with fun stuff along the way. There was a big water tank set up with guys wakeboarding over a jump with a cable-tow, a really great grass "rolling hill," snacks, the "chilling station" where we just had to take a moment to chill, and plenty of others. The weather was beautiful, the game wasn't too crowded, and we all had such a fun day. HOOK 'EM!

We'd give Norman Rockwell a toothache
Strawberry picking at Sweetberry Farms. AJ used her berries to make shortcake for her cooking show. Be sure to check that out as well : )

Jack "loves technology...always and forever"
Driving home from school, Jack sang me "You are my Sunshine." I said something to the effect, "That was so cute honey," to which he replied, "Can you video me singing it and upload it to Toree's blog?" Sure, no problem, but how about my blog : )

SUMMER IS HERE!!! WOOOHOOO!
Our neighborhood pool officially opened today, and I'm pretty sure we were the first customers. A couple more families showed up a little later, but we beat them to it. The water was freezing, but it didn't keep these two little polar bears away. They swam for 2 1/2 hours (with a couple warm-up breaks), and I sat in a lounger with a mag. Let me ask you, does it get any better???
